Camper Van Converter, Meriden, Coventry
Salary: £21,000 - £26,000 per annum, negotiable depending on experience
Full-Time: (42.5 hours per week)
About the Role
We are looking for someone with at least 3 years’ experience in building campervans, or the required skillset, to work alongside our experienced van conversion team in our factory which is situated at Meriden Works, Birmingham Road, CV5 9AZ.
The successful candidate will be building a camper from start to finish, including the installation of all plumbing and electrics. Candidates must be able to work using their own initiative and have good communication skills.
As a skilled tradesperson, you will have experience constructing purpose-built vehicles, cabinet making or Kitching fitting. You'll be a numbers person with an ability to interpret plans and instructions, as well as possessing high technical knowledge in the fabrication of various materials including timber, plastics, glass fibre and steel.
The successful candidate will work as part of a friendly, experienced team and cover the entire fit-out process. This starts at the pre fit out stage, stripping back the van to its shell, before beginning the conversion process into a bespoke camper van, demonstrating the ability to produce a high level of workmanship both as a team member and an individual.
This manual role will entail:-
- Carpeting,
- Window installation and trimming,
- Electrics,
- Plumbing,
- Carpentry,
- Pop-top roof installations,
- Stock control,
- Use of power tools safely,
- Keeping your work environment clean and tidy,
- Adhering to health and safety regulations.
Essential Skills
You will possess transferable skills, such as accuracy, consistency, common-sense and efficiency and should have a diligent approach to your work. On a personal level you will be positive, flexible, co-operative and be able to work to instructions provided by a line manager.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of VW transporters and will have worked in the automotive industry,
